HOMING FROM GATESHEAD CATS PROTECTION - PLEASE READ

If you would like to rehome a cat from us then the first thing you should do is complete an application form, which you will find under the details of the various cats on this page, or you can call us on 0191-4203180 with your details including a telephone number where we can get in touch with you. Please make this a landline number when you can as calls to mobiles cost us more.

After the initial contact with us our Homing Officer will give you a call and discuss the cats we have available. If you are interested then she will arrange to come out and do a Home Visit - we never rehome any of our cats without a Home Visit being carried out. Once this has been carried out if everything is ok you can then arrange to go and visit the cat or cats you are interested in at their foster home.

We don"t have a set charge for adopting one of our cats but we do ask for a donation towards our funds. All our cats are vet checked, de-flead, wormed and microchipped before we rehome them and of course some cats need extra help which increases our vets bills which are always high. We have to raise the majority of our funds ourselves and it all goes towards helping the cats and kittens we care for.

How much you donate is of course up to you but the average donation is £45- £50 All donations however big or small are very welcome.

Thank you

HOMES ALWAYS NEEDED

We always have cats and/or kittens waiting for homes although we have no kittens available at the moment. Even if none of the cats shown here seem suitable please give us a call or email as we may have just the right cat for you they just haven"t appeared on our page yet.

Please make sure when you call us you speak clearly when leaving a message, let us know which cat or the type of cat you are interested in and leave a telephone number (a landline number wherever possible) for us to contact you.

When you email please tell us which cat or the type of cat you are interested in and let us know the area you live in and give us a contact telephone number (landline wherever possible). This means we can get in touch with you more quickly and don"t have to email you back to get your details.

Please note we always carry out a home visit before we rehome any of our cats.

Thank you from Gateshead and District Cats Protection

JOE - A handsome boy

Joe is a handsome brown tabby male of around 6 years of age. He has only recently come into our care after his family moved away and left him behind to fend for himself. The new tenants of his home had pets of their own so could not take him. He has settled into his new foster home well and appears to be a very friendly chap. Joe would be suitable as an indoor or outdoor cat, depending on the area. If you could offer him a new home please contact us on 0191 4203180, or complete the application form below by clicking the link.

CONNIE & RUFUS WHO NEED A HOME TOGETHER

CONNIE

Hi there I"m Connie, mum to Rufus. I am a big healthy 3 year old girl who loves her food. I am very nice natured and like nothing better than my head rubbed although sometimes I am quite happy just to sit quietly by myself. Rufus and I came into the care of Cats Protection after our owners moved away and left us behind some months ago but we have settled into our new foster home really well. We would love to go a to quiet home together, somewhere with a nice secure garden to roam around in would suit us both, especially me as I like to be out and about exploring. Please note that Rufus and I need to be rehomed together as he needs his mum to look after him, well what little boy doesn"t!

 RUFUS

Hello there, I"m Rufus, the 2 year old son of Connie - yes the "mummy"s boy". As you can see from my picture I am a rather handsome boy. I also like a head rub and am quite affectionate in a shy kind of way and although I have been a stray for a while I have settled into with my foster family really well. I am still a little bit timid but I am sure if you can give me the cuddles and love I crave for I will by your friend for life. Please note that I need to be rehomed with my mam, Connie.

If you can offer us a home please call 0191 4203180, OR COMPLETE AN ADOPTION ENQUIRY FORM BY CLICKING THE LINK BELOW

BRADLEY: HOME VISIT PENDING

Meet Bradley, who is a gorgeous 3 year old ginger and white tom. Bradley was rehomed earlier this year, but unfortunately he did not get along with his new owner"s cat so has come back into our care. Because of his dislike for other cats he will need to be homed in a house without other animals. Apart from this, he is a very friendly cat who enjoys human company and loves a stroke. Bradley would be suitable as either an indoor or outdoor cat, depending on the area. Please note that as he has just come back into our care Bradley will not be ready to be rehomed until the end of April. If you can offer Bradley a home please give us a ring on 0191 4203180 or complete the application form by clicking the link below.

PLEASE NO MORE APPLICATIONS AS BRADLEY HAS A HOME VISIT PENDING!

BAM BAM & RUSTY

Bam Bam and Rusty are brother and sister and are 16 months old. They have recently come into our care as their owner was no longer able to look after them properly. Rusty is a dark tortie queen and Bam Bam is a long haired black tom. Both are extremely friendly cats, who love sitting on your knee and having cuddles. They are used to children. Please note they need to be homed as a pair, as either indoor or outdoor cats, depending on the area. If you can offer them a home please call 0191 4203180, or complete the application form below by clicking the link

MAURICE

Maurice is a recent arrival into our care having been found as a stray. He is still letting us know his personality but it is already clear that he is a proper lap cat who likes his cuddles. Maurice is a young adult black and white cat. More info to come but please get in touch if you are interested in Maurice, simply call 0191 4203180 or complete the application form below by clicking the link

FAGIN (PHOTO TO FOLLOW)

Hello, this is Fagin. He is a handsome tabby tom cat of approximately 10 years of age. Fagin was a stray and has tested FIV+ which means that he will have to be homed in a household with either another FIV+ cat or no animals at all. He will have to be kept indoors at all times and because of this he will be better homed in a household with either no children or possibly older children (who are less likely to leave doors open for him to escape). Fagin is a very friendly boy and would make someone a lovely companion, ideally someone who will not be put off by his FIV and who is prepared to give him his medication. He has had a few of his teeth removed as they were a bit rotten, but apart from his FIV he is fine. If you can offer Fagin a home please contact us on 0191 4203180.
