Meet The Fabulous Blackberry ! A lovely natured 2 year old queen - REHOMED 2nd Jan 08

This beautiful queen was found wandering the streets and desperately needed our help. She is now neutered, and very friendly indeed. We feel she is quite young, and would suit a home without children, as she enjoys play and likes to grab your attention by reaching out with her paw, this wouldnt be a good idea around small children. She isnt used to other cats and appears nervous of dogs. She is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated, and would make a lovely companion pet.
No More Applications for Blackberry Please

These Kittens are now Booked to go to their New Homes-Our Coronation Street Stars !Jack & Vera & Sean & Marcus

(Jack & Vera pictured)Four Kittens were found living wild on an Industrial estate, where they were foraging for food among bins and very dangerous machinery.

The workers were also feeding them scraps of sandwiches etc and they alerted us when they saw that the kittens had eye problems.

All kittens including Vera who was the most bad tempered of the bunch, are now happy and playing well together. We would however want very quiet homes without small children for these kittens, and owners who understand how loving these kittens can become once they have given them lots of love and patient handling.

Please Note:- We will not separate the pairs that have already bonded, nor will we rehome over the Christmas period to households who may wish to have family gatherings etc over the festive period. This wouldnt be fair on owner nor kittens. ( Sean & Marcus)

NO MORE APPLICATIONS FOR THESE KITTENS PLEASE

Quinn - A Truly Handsome Young Male - NOW HAPPY IN HIS NEW HOME- No More Applications Please

Quinn was originally found as a stray kitten in the Wallsend area, and was taken in by a family who already had a cat. The two cats never managed to make friends. Quinn was allowed to go outside and was known locally as 'The Asbo Cat' as he would show aggression towards any cat he happened to meet.
He is only approximately 16 months old, so still a very young cat. However, as he is used to being allowed out, a new owner would need to consider whether or not his lack of social skills towards other cats could cause a problem within their neighbourhood.
It would of course be possible to keep this boy as an indoor cat, but that would need patience and understanding from his new owner, as initially he would pester to be outside.

NO MORE APPLICATIONS AT THE MOMENT PLEASE

tsy - A Stunning Black & White Boy- REHOMED 22ND FEBRUARY
Itsy's owners have had to request that we find a new home for Itsy. It appears that the two existing family cats would not accept this youngster into their home, and kittens being kittens, Itsy couldnt understand what he had done wrong, and kept trying to engage them in play which the cats objected to in the strongest manner. He is a very young cat, who has much to offer the right family. He is only 6 months old, neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. As you can see by the photo, he loves his toys, and would make a fabulous family pet as he was brought up with a 7 year old child. However, due to his bad experience of other cats, he would best in a home without other cats. We also feel Itsy would prefer a home where he could go outside, so a home that is NOT beside a main road would be best for him. Please fill in the adoption enquiry form below and I will put you in touch with Val, who is caring for him at this time.
UPDATE 25th January - No More Applications for Itsy Please

Meet Lobo - A Lovely Placid Male Cat - LOBO HAS NOW BEEN REHOMED !

This really fabulous boy, and I know he looks grumpy in this photo, but the camera in this case 'doth lie!' was found as a stray, but as you can see is in lovely condition.

He has just come into care, so will need to stay till around 7th February, as he has to be Vet Checked, vaccinated and chipped, as well as a full character assessment done.
If you think he could be for you, then dont hesitate to complete an enquiry form by clicking the link below.
UPDATE 10TH FEBRUARY ; No more applications as Lobo has found his new home

Boycie A Handsome Tabby Boy -  GOING TO A NEW HOME 5th FEBRUARY

I received a call from a gentleman in Percy Main to say a stray cat had a terrible limp, and appeared to have a claw imbedded in the soft padding of his paw, so the cat went to the Vet and the injury treated. A few weeks later, I received another call from the gentleman to say the cat was limping badly once again. This time there was an emergency space for the cat, so rather than treat him and return him to the streets, we took him into care. On seeing the Vet this time, it was noted that it wasnt the pad this time that was causing a problem, but a bite he had received which went right through the upper part of his leg. Boycie, as we have called this stunning lad, is now ready for a new home, his bites have healed and he is vaccinated and chipped.
Boycie was already neutered, so we feel he may have belonged to an older person who perhaps died or went into care.
NO MORE APPLICATIONS FOR THIS CAT PLEASE, HE HAS NOW FOUND A LOVELY NEW HOME

Connie A Gorgeous Tortie Female - GONE TO HER NEW HOME -FEBRUARY 08

We first heard of Connie when a gentleman rang us to tell us that a stray cat had given birth in a derelict Church in the West End of Newcastle. The kindly gentleman, offered to give the mother cat a home, if we could take the kittens. Sadly on gaining entry into the Church there was no sign among the rubble of kittens, so we do not know the fate of the babies. Connie went to live with the gentleman, but sadly he took ill and was hospitalised, so Connie has had to come into our care, and a new home found for her. She is a young cat, neutered, fully vaccinated and chipped. She has lived with dogs when with the gentleman, but we do not know at this time how she would settle with another cat or with young children.
REHOMED FEBRUARY 08

Cats Protection Newcastle are offering to assist FIV+ Cats in other areas.
If you feel you can offer a secure home to any of these cats, we will pay for them to come to the North East.
You will find lots of information on FIV+ cats on this site.
http://www.cpnewcastle.co.uk/thiscatneedsyou.htm

SPECTRE A STUNNING BOY WHO IS FIV+ - THIS LOVELY CAT HAS NOW FOUND A NEW HOME
Spectre is a lovely cat with no vices at all, he is a happy playful normal cat, apart from his FIV status. Spectre and his brother Spooky were abandoned as kittens three years ago and were rehomed separately from the Forest of Dean Branch of Cats Protection. Spectre was apparently the victim of a fighting cat, and as that cat was NOT neutered, it is strongly suspected that this is how he contracted the FIV positive status.
FIV+ cats can live long normal lives and offer no threat to humans or any other animal apart from other cats. If you would be interested in adopting an FIV+ cat you need to be aware that an FIV+ cat cannot mix with any cats other than other FIV+ cats. So must be kept either as indoor cats, or allowed into the garden PROVIDING you have a secure covered over area where the cat cannot get out and others cannot get in.

NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS FOR SPECTRE PLEASE

Poppet A Young Tabby Female  -  POPPET HAS NOW FOUND A NEW HOME !

Poppet came to us after being found in the Holy Cross area of North Tyneside. She is a very young female, probably around a year old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. After her time living outside she has become intimidated by other cats, so we feel a home where she is the only pet would be best for her. She doesnt like dogs and we cannot say how she will react towards small children. Poppet hasnt had the best start in life, as she was probably a kitten who escaped the home during her first season, and was then lost and terrified in a world she was not prepared for. She has settled down really well since coming into care, and we feel she would have lots of love to give a new owner who was prepared to give her a chance.

UPDATE 14th February - Poppet has now found a fabulous new home, so please do not apply to adopt.

SHADOW - A Tiny Little White & Black Shy Queen- REHOMED 4th MARCH

( available from the beginning of March )Shadow has only just come into our care, and is still a little shy, although she is learning very fast, that Val who is caring for her is her friend.  We have just had her neutered, chipped and given her the first of two vaccines. She is a shy little girl, still very young, who is a little afraid of other cats, and small children, so she will need a quieter home with understanding and loving owners, so may be ideal for those who need an indoor cat.
However if she sounds right for you, please complete one of the Adoption Enquiry Forms by clicking the link of that name anywhere on the page.
NO MORE APPLICATIONS FOR SHADOW TILL HOME VISIT COMPLETED THANK YOU

TAMSIN - A YOUNG BLACK & WHITE MUM - REHOMED MARCH

  • AVAILABLE FROM 10TH MARCH
  • DOES'NT LIKE OTHER CATS
  • CANNOT BE REHOMED TO NORTH SHIELDS AREA
  • IS FINE WITH CHILDREN
  • AGED APPROX 1 YEAR
  • VERY FRIENDLY

Tamsin is an adorable young queen less than a year old, in fact probably about 7 months of age, judging by her small stature and excellent teeth playful nature. She was found as a stray, heavily pregnant, in the North Shields area, where a kind hearted resident took her in and kept her till her kittens were old enough to be moved. Tasmin, has now finished caring for her kittens, which she did a remarkable job for, despite being so young. So in a few weeks time, she will be neutered, chipped, vaccinated and ready for a new home. Unfortunately we cannot rehome a cat to the area it was collected from, so we cannot home her to the North Shields area.
Tamsin is a very placid young female, who doesn't seem to be phased by anything, so would suit most families. Although we would not recommend leaving a cat unattended with very young children, no matter how placid the cat may be.

TAMSIN IS NOW IN HER NEW HOME - NO MORE APPLICATIONS PLEASE

RICKY & BOBBY - 2 GINGER BOYS
REHOMED 4th March

Available from 3rd March

These 2 adorable 7 month old kittens, brothers, came into our care through no fault of their own or their owners. They will be neutered, chipped and vaccinated, prior to adoption.  As these boys are newly into care, we will update the information here as soon as we learn more about them.

They will need to be homed as a pair !

They are used to children, but we do not recommend placing kittens in homes with very young children, and these cats would still be classed as kittens.

BONNIE, A Young, Tabby Queen - REHOMED MARCH 08

  • DOES NOT LIKE OTHER CATS
  • VOCAL
  • WOULD ADAPT TO BEING A HOUSECAT
  • AGED AROUND 1 YR TO 18 MONTHS
  • CANNOT BE REHOMED TO THE HEBBURN AREA
  • LIKES HER FOOD
  • NOT USED TO YOUNG CHILDREN

Bonnie was found scavenging on a building site in Hebburn. Advertising was done locally by the builders working there in an attempt to trace Bonnie's owner, but no one has come forward so far.  This young queen, who was quite frightened to begin with, is now starting to come out of her shell and proving to be quite a talkative cat, who loves her food and very friendly. Cats Protection will ensure that Bonnie is neutered, microchipped and her vaccinations started prior to her being adopted.  We feel Bonnie would be best suited to a home without young children.

Meanwhile if you feel Bonnie could be for you, then do not hesitate to complete an application form, by clicking any of the links on this page.

NO MORE APPLICATIONS AT THIS TIME PLEASE

CINDERS & OLIVE - 2 YOUNG QUEENS - REHOMED MARCH 08

  • NOT USED TO YOUNG CHILDREN
  • WOULD NEED TO BE REHOMED AS A PAIR
  • FINE WITH DOGS
  • AGED 18 MONTHS & 2 YEARS
  • WELL CARED FOR CATS

These two queens have come into our care due to the owners work commitments, for rehoming as a pair. Cinders, aged 18 months is Grey, and is shy at first but very affectionate once she gets over her initial shyness. We think Cinders is a cross Russian Blue, hence the shyness would be typical of the breed. Olive, aged 2 years, is a forward cat, who comes forth for attention all the time. Both are neutered and are in the process of being vaccinated and microchipped by Cats Protection.
They have only been in our care a few days, so its very early days to give you a lot of information about this pair. although we do know they are fine with dogs.
If they appeal to you and you would like to meet them, please contact us via the online form, Adoption Enquiry Form, links for which are all over this page.

NO MORE APPLICATIONS PLEASE AT THIS TIME

THESE CATS HAVE NOW BEEN REHOMED - MARCH 08

TWO YOUNG QUEENS ABANDONED IN A CARDBOARD BOX

WE HAVE TO ADMIT TO MAKING A MISTAKE WITH THESE CATS

WE NOW NEED THEM TO REMAIN TOGETHER

Initially we reported that these cats could be rehomed separately, we were wrong !  It seems what we thought was a dislike of one another was actually a stress reaction to being a) confined together in a box b) being placed a pen with strange cats all around them. Cats who come into care do normally react to this, and we are used to seeing that, but with these two cats we did get it wrong. Now that they have been with us for two weeks, they are settling well and are playing with each other. So we DO NOT want to upset them further by separating them

Our apologies to those who have applied for one or the other

These cats only came into our care on the 27th February after having been dumped at our Vets in Ryton. We know little about them other than they are healthy, and quite young, but obviously a little stressed at this time. We will update you as soon as we know a little more about them.
Meanwhile if you are interested in them, then please click the link below and fill in an application form, then we can arrange for you to meet them as soon as they are a little more settled.

FALLON A LOVELY TABBY FEMALE

DUMPED ALONG WITH ROWAN IN CARBOARD BOX
AGED AROUND 9 MONTHS

CAN BE DOMINANT OVER OTHER CATS
CANNOT BE REHOMED TO THE RYTON AREA
AVAILABLE ON OR AFTER 12TH MARCH

Fallon, as you can see is an adorable tabby female, probably the sister of Rowan, although she is slightly smaller is stature and most certainly a tabby, having all the usual temperament of a tabby.  Fallon is the forward one of the two, and can be talkative. She is the first to come out and greet you, and is totally adorable. She is very young being around 9 months of age. She is now neutered, chipped, and has had her first vaccination. We cannot say how these cats will react to small children, as we have no history for them.
A home together is what we are seeking, where kittens and kitten behaviour is welcomed, as we feel certain that Fallon will be the energetic one of the two.

ROWAN THE SECOND OCCUPANT OF THE BOX ALONG WITH FALLON

DUMPED ALONG WITH FALLON IN A CARDBOARD BOX
AGED AROUND 9 MONTHS
A LITTLE SHY
CANNOT BE REHOMED IN THE RYTON AREA

Rowan is most likely a sister to Fallon, but she is different in personality in that she is shyer and takes longer to get to know you. But that doesnt mean she is anything other than a kitten. She is Black and White, neutered, chipped and has had her first vaccination. She has settled really well, and would love a home together with Fallon, where  her owner will seek her out to give her the love she craves, at the moment, Fallon wants to be the centre of attention when people are around.
These cats would love a home where they can run around, chase each other and be the centre of attention, so a home without other cats or dogs would be wonderful. If you are interested in this pair, please complete an application by clicking the link below.

ME & YOU AND A CAT NAMED BOO !- A HOME HAS BEEN FOUND FOR BOO

Cannot be rehomed to the Wideopen area

Boo is a fabulous neutered tortie queen, who just wants to lie in your arms and be loved. Her owner sadly died, and she went to live with a relative, but unfortunately they had a dog who wanted to play with Boo, and she wasnt up to the rough play at all, so, Boo came to stay with us. She has been a cat who has known lots of love and is a very content cat. So if you are looking for a cat as your companion, then look no further than Boo. Boo has been used to older children, so would be fine as a family cat. Boo will be fully vaccinated and chipped by ourselves.

DEVON a Truly Stunning 6month old kitten - rehomed April 08
  • Cannot be homed to the Arthurs Hill Area of Newcastle
  • Scared of Other Cats
Devon was abandoned when her owner hurriedly left the property they lived in. So this young 6 month old queen was left without food or water, till her cries were heard by a neighbour who contacted us for our help. Starved of affection, yet deeply yearning for it, Devon, now neutered, will soon be looking for a forever home where she will get all the love and care she never received during her early kitten days. Devon is semi long haired, so you must be prepared to groom her, and at the moment she is still a little scared of everything around her as she has never known life outside of the flat she lived in.
NO MORE APPLICATIONS FOR DEVON PLEASE

WE ARE SEEKING A VERY SPECIAL HOME WITH A SPECIAL OWNER FOR A SPECIAL KITTEN
ARE YOU THAT PERSON? - GREAT NEWS PIPPEN HAS NOW FOUND THAT SPECIAL HOME - APRIL 08

This is Pippin, a tiny kitten with a problem

Pippin looks like any other kitten, plays like any other kitten, eats like any other kitten, but she isn't any other kitten. As every cat that comes into our care is given a check over from our Vet, most getting the all clear, we were a little saddened when Pippin was diagnosed with a heart murmur.
Murmurs in kittens are not unusual, and most  clear up in a very short time, but to be sure of this we need to keep going to and from the Vets for regular check ups. In Pippins case this would mean keeping her in a pen on her own when her brothers and sisters go to new homes. We think this is cruel, so we are looking for a special person willing to give this kitten a home, and be in a position to take her to Tim Bradbury at Tyne Vets in Crawcrook, so her can monitor her condition.

NO MORE APPLICATIONS PLEASE FOR PIPPIN

abby A Young INDOOR Queen - rehomed May 08

Tabby came into our care as a result of the breakdown of a marriage. Both parties went to live in furnished accommodation in which cats are not allowed. Tabby did have kittens with her, so she must have got out at least on one occasion. She was a little scared at first, but has come around really well, and is now playing and offering affection. She is due to be neutered at some point after the 5th May and will be chipped at the same time. Then a couple of days later she will return to the Vet for her first vaccine. We are therefor looking for an indoor home, where she will be the only cat. Im afraid we do not know if she is used to children or not.

NO MORE APPLICATIONS FOR TABBY PLEASE

5 MONTH OLD ODD EYED WHITE CROSS PEDIGREE MALE
Bailey is now happy in his new home

possible hearing problems so must be kept in a home with a very secure garden.

This stunning 5 month old little lad, is a pedigree cross ( Devon Rex) so coat casting may not be a huge problem, however, we only have the word of the lady who donated the cat to us for this. This boy needs a very special home, as he can be quite loud, which may be due to an element of deafness, although we do know he can hear certain sounds. So a home that is very safe, as deaf cats cannot be allowed to roam as they cannot hear the danger of cars etc.
This lad is very affectionate indeed, and is quite a character, as he seems to love to do head over heel rolls.
We think he will be very demanding so someone looking for a companion cat may well be ideal for this charming kitten.
Im afraid I cant recall his name, but will amend this as soon as I know it for sure.

A THREESOME DESPERATE FOR A HOME TOGETHER !  Great news !!!! these three girls have now found a loving home !

These cats are now desperate for a home together, they have been in a cat pen for several months now and are desperate to be free in a home of their own.

INDOOR HOME NEEDED

CASSIE - CLAUDIA - MITZI
Occasionally we get a group of cats into our care that need to be re-homed together, as they have always known each other and rely strongly on one another. Such is the case with Cassie, Claudia and Mitzi. These three adorable cats relied upon each other greatly in their home, but now as the owner has a baby to care for, she feels she can no longer cope with the cats also. Sadly we see this quite often, so many people decide that their pets could be a threat to their child, which really is ridiculous, or they feel they cannot cope with the care of the animals as well as the child, again this is sad, as no-one should take responsibility for an animal unless they have considered it very carefully. An animal is for life, not till you are sick of it.

Remember these cats have only known an indoor life, so we need a home where they are the only cats. They are not used to children, but we feel would be fine with older kids. They are not used to dogs.

MITZI

Mitzi is a real character. She is 4 years old, and although she appeared nervous at first, which is hardly surprising, she has now proved herself to be a real sweetie. Mitzi loves to play 'lets pretend'. She often stands and wiggles her tail, which leads you to think she is spraying, but no, she doesn't spray, this is just her way of saying, 'Oh hello, how are you?' Mitzi is neutered, vaccinated and chipped.
She has grown to depend upon the other two cats, and together they seem to have a wonderful play time at night, so expect kitten games at night if you adopt these three cats.

CASSIE

Cassie was the most nervous of the three when they first arrived, as you can see by this photo taken a day after they arrived. But now, thanks to Mitzi and Claudia, she is now one of the first to come forward for loves !  It was amazing to watch the reaction of Claudia and Mitzi, they went up to Cassie, cuddled into her and literally seemed to be assuring her that all was well. This to us is proof positive that these three cats must stay together.
Cassie is a very young 6 years of age, and still full of kitten behaviour. She loves to play with the other two, and is very loving indeed.

CLAUDIA

Lastly we have Claudia, again aged around 4-5 years. Claudia is unusual in the fact that she has one eye slightly smaller than the other, but this ha been checked by our Vet, and there is nothing wrong with her eye at all. But it does give her a distinguished look. Claudia is the spokesperson or spokescat to be correct, for the group, she is the talkative one, and the one who is in charge. She is very friendly indeed, and likes to check you out before telling the others, all is well.

THESE CATS ARE NOW HAPPILY REHOMED.

THE CREDIT CRUNCH STRIKES !
ASDA is back with us and Needs a FOREVER home ! - GOOD NEWS< ASDA HAS FOUND A HOME !

Asda was found last year in a terrible state, living on a building site in the Gosforth area, on the site of an ASDA store, hence her name. Builders had spotted her there, and had been throwing scraps to her, but the noise and all the confusion around the site had this poor cat terrified. Eventually a lady from the store became aware of ASDA's plight and contacted us, and between us we finally managed to capture the terrified female cat and brought her into our care. ASDA then went on to find a home but due to the CREDIT CRUNCH, this lady has now been forced into accommodation where cats are not allowed, so ASDA is back with us.
She is a middle aged cat, so would appreciate a quiet home, where she could spend a lot of her time indoors, as the outside world is a bit frightening to her now. If you can offer her that home we would be delighted to hear from you. Simply complete an Adoption Enquiry Form by clicking the link below and we will arrange for you to meet this lovely girl.

Both kittens are loving, but like any other kittens of this age, they are full of mischief. I

HAYLEY A YOUNG MUM NOW NEEDING A HOME - on hold pending home visit

This lovely little tabby & white queen, is the most wonderful Mum, and soon she will be looking for a home of her own. Hayley is probably under a year old, and is very affectionate and playful, in fact she is a kitten herself. So a home is now needed for her. She will be neutered, fully vaccinated and chipped prior to leaving our care.

LINNY AN ADORABLE YOUNG QUEEN
Cannot be rehomed to the Denton area
REHOMED

This very attractive and loving little female was found living among a feral colony in the West End of Newcastle, among whom she had been living for some time. Thinking she was a feral, she was trapped, in order to be neutered and returned. But once in the trap we found she was indeed a very loving little cat, who at one time had obviously had an owner. However that owner had not had her neutered, so she wandered away from home, and during her stay with the ferals, gave birth to several litters of kittens.
She is now looking for a forever home, where she can have a quiet life and lots of affection and play daily.

GREGORY - A HANDSOME BLACK MALE  - REHOMED
cannot be rehomed to the Rosehill Wallsend area
Gregory was abandoned by his previous owner when they moved house, so Gregory had to fend for himself for almost 5 months, until one morning a concerned person noticed that the cat appeared injured. So Gregory came to us, and we found he had quite a few injuries over his body consistent with a dog attack. He is now neutered, chipped and vaccinated, and his injuries are totally healed. Gregory is now ready for a new home with a family, so if you are interested in this young male, please complete the Adoption Enquiry Form by clicking the link below.
NO MORE APPLICATIONS FOR GREGORY PLEASE

Ginge & Blacky - a pair of kittens aged 7 and 9 months  - REHOMED

These kittens came into our care full of fleas and not very well cared for at all. Now they have been neutered, vaccinated, chipped and given a clean bill of health by our Vet. Both kittens were nervous and shy at first, but are now starting to accept their surroundings and beginning to feel secure and content. We are sure that in the right home they will once again act like kittens of this age should, and play and give lots of affection to their owner. These kittens are not litter mates, but they are very close and sleep together, so we would not consider homing them individually.

NO MORE ENQUIRIES AT THE MOMENT PLEASE.

WILLOW - abandoned in a cardboard box - REHOMED

This shy young queen is aged between 6 and 9 months, now neutered, was abandoned in a cardboard box, along with a note from her owner, who said she could no longer afford to keep her. As she is shy, she would be best suited to a quieter household without small children or other pets.

NO MORE APPLICATIONS AT THE MOMENT PLEASE

INTRODUCING FLETCH - A REAL MAN ABOUT TOWN ! -  REHOMED
Cannot be rehomed to the Walkerdene/Walkerville Area

Fletch is a rather stunning young male aged around 2 or 3 years. He is a very friendly boy, who has lived as a stray for some months, so would now appreciate a forever home. Although Fletch appears easy going we cannot guarantee how he would react to living with another cat, especially another male. Fletch will be fully vaccinated, chipped and neutered as part of the Cats Protection Rehoming Policy

BREEZE - A STUNNING WHITE & BLACK QUEEN - YOUNG

DUE TO AN AMAZING LACK OF INTEREST IN THIS CAT, BREEZE HAS NOW BEEN SENT TO OUR ADOPTION CENTRE IN DERBY

update:-  Have heard from Derby and Breeze has settled in really well, and there has been interest in her already, so fingers crossed her days of being in care are going to come to an end.

Breeze gave birth to a litter of 3 kittens while living under a porta cabin in Sunderland. This lovely little white and black queen, was a devoted Mum, who fed her kittens while taking no food at all herself, until she was discovered by accident by one of the workers on the site. Breeze was then captured along with her kittens and brought into our care.
This devoted young queen, is now neutered, vaccinated and chipped and ready for that new home that will be a forever home.
We wouldn't advise a family with young children to adopt Breeze, as she obviously hasn't had a wonderful experience of humans, and although she is very affectionate, she can sometimes misread your intentions, which can frighten her.
Older Children in their teens should be fine with her.

JACKSON A GINGER & WHITE BOY - now in a new home

Jackson was found in the High Heaton area, where he had been living rough for several months. The finder advertised him, and in July, we joined in the hunt to locate his owner. But sadly no one has had any luck in finding Jackson's owners. So now this lovely boy who is neutered, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped is seeking a new forever home.
Jackson is a laid back boy, who just likes to take life as it comes, nothing seems to upset or bother him. He would be happy with a home with or without children. Other cats do not seem to bother him, nor does the dog at his foster home, so if you are looking for a laid back ginger boy, look no further.

MUM & KITTEN SEARCHING FOR A HOME TOGETHER - REHOMED
This stunning young mother cat and her kitten found themselves homeless and in need of Cats Protection's help. Mum is a hardly more than a kitten herself being less than a year old, and is very pretty, loving and devoted to her young son, who is around 12 weeks of age.
Cats Protection will neuter both, vaccinate and chip both, and in return we are looking for a safe secure home for this lovely pair.

ROAD ACCIDENT VICTIM NEEDS A HOME ! - WALLY HAS NOW BEEN REHOMED !

WALLY WILL SOON BE LOOKING FOR A FOREVER HOME !

Wally was hit by a car over in Ryton. He looked dead, but was brought to Tyne Vets, and they performed a miracle. The cat had horrendous injuries to his front leg, with several breaks, he was concussed, and generally suffering from severe shock. Tim, operated and Wally's leg was put straight by the insertion of metal plates and pins, and he then came to us to rest and hopefully improve. Wally is now well on the road to recovery, although he does have a slight limp, which will possibly get less and less as he lives a normal life and excercises, which he cannot do while confined to an outdoor pen.. He is the most stunning deep coated black cat, with huge eyes, and is a very friendly chap indeed.
We would love a family to consider adopting this lovely boy, who is almost ready to for a new home. We have had a terrible job getting photos of Wally as despite his injuries is so keen on visitors, cameras get knocked all over the place, and we end up with photos of tails etc...

Meet Lexi

Thi
s pretty 7-8 month old female kitten was abandoned in our shop at Wallsend, having been found on a Caravan site in the Durham area. Despite her young age, we believe Lexi had given birth to kittens prior to being dumped on our shop counter.
As she i
s a pretty young thing, she was quickly offered a new home, but alas, it wasn't to last as her new owner proved to be highly allergic to cat hair.

A Poem to Consider

Little Black Cat

I once was thought lucky, but now thats 'old hat'

I'm not in the fashion, I'm a little black cat

The visitors come and they pass with a smile

I'm young and I'm friendly, but I've been here a while.

"We wanted a tabby" I've heard them request

I know I'm not tabby but I'm doing my best !

I've tried rolling over and waving my paw,

But they just take a glance and pass by my door.

"Maybe a ginger? That one looks nice",

But a little black cat? Well no one looks twice

If you come to the Centre, just watch and see -

They'll choose all the others, but no one picks me.
