Purdy rehomed from Val & Gareth
REHOMED 3RD JANUARY 06
Cracker & Tinsell were abandoned in our shop in Wallsend on the 23rd December, left on the counter sitting in
their
litter tray and covered with a blanket. Perhaps these two committed the
cardinal sin of playing with the baubles, or were just in the way.
REHOMED ON THE 3rd JANUARY
Loopy found a new home on the 3rd January

REHOMED 22nd JANUARY 06

CHICO
came into our care in November, and went out very quickly to a new
home, as he was such an irresistable cat. But Chico has come back to us
as his new owners couldnt keep him through no problem of his own. Chico
found a lovely home with a family who adore him
REHOMED - 23rd January via Scottish Branch
Sooty - This queen proved a bit of a problem to us, so she was moved to a branch in Scotland and was rehomed from there

Sweet Dreams Little One....
REHOMED 25th February
Mack & Murphy are two fabulous boys who at the age of 13, found a lovely new home together.
6th APRIL 06. Peggy has gone to a lovely new home, and Im sure her new owner will be delighted with herOne of our Members has kindly agreed to give Lucy a Home !
Saturday
15th April, one of members, who has been visiting Lucy has decided to give her
a chance. I have since heard from Lucy's owners and she is doing very well
indeed. Our thanks to you both for giving her the chance she deserved
Milly has been rehomed..........
Milly was originally found wandering Gateshead High
Street. She is of undetermined age, probably around 5 or 6
years. She is a lovely natured cat and seems to prefer being indoors, but
she is a little shy of strangers. She is a sweet cat, who is absolutely clean,
with absolutely no known health problems. Initially we thought as Daisy
and Milly came from the same home they should be rehomed together, but now we
feel that Milly may blossom more in a home of her own, she is easily bullied by
other cats, so we feel a home where she is the only cat would be ideal for her.
Jess has now been rehomed,
Jess is
only 18 months old, she couldnt stay with her family as the child of the family
developed serious health problems due partially to a cat allergy. Jess is a
very pretty young cat, who is friendly and would make an ideal family
pet.
Jess was very timid when she first arrived, and still isnt too sure of life in an outdoor pen away from the family she loved, but in the right home, she will blossom very quickly.
Rehomed
21st April 06
REHOMED 27th MAY 06
Spangle - A stunning Peach & Grey
Tortie queen
Spangle gave
birth to kittens in a Wheelie Bin in North Shields. Someone took the kittens
away from her, and left her searching for them. Imagine what Spangle went
through, I certainly can't, it must have been awful for this little
queen. Spangle, will be ready to go to a new home very soon, she will be
neutered, and like all our cats, has been tested to ensure she isnt carrying
the Feline AIDS or Leukemia virus. She is a little nervous though, so if you
have young children, she really isnt the cat for you.
UPDATE
Spangle went to her new home on the 27th May 06
JAKE HAS BEEN MOVED TO OUR DERBY
BRANCH OF CATS PROTECTION
Jake is a young semi long haired all Black boy who
is a bit of a character. We dont know a great deal of his
background,
only that he appeared to have been dumped along with a young female cat (Babe,
who came into our care also, and gave birth to 6 babies, no doubt Jake is the
Dad )in the Howdon area of Newcastle. Our Vets have aged him around 1 year to
18 months. He is a friendly boy, now neutered, but he does have a problem which
we think is related to him sensing and smelling other cats, which of course we
have so many of.
Jake, like all our adult cats, has to remain in an outdoor pen,
whilst in our care, and he sprays. We have taken him back and forth to the Vets
in case there is a medical reason, but it appears that he is doing it, because
he is a gentle boy, not a fighter, and he wants to warn the other cats in the
neighbouring pens to stay away.
We do not think he will continue to do this if he is homed where there are no
other cats, although we do expect him, like any other cat to scent his
territory.
Jake has been
moved to our Derby Branch in the hope that the problem of his spraying will
stop if he is somewhere without other cats being so close to him. So fingers
crossed that this works and that Jake will find a loving home very soon indeed.
Tigglet has now been rehomed !
And
this little fellow is Tigglet, who is the 10 month old son of Tigger & Sox
That cheeky face says it all !
This lovely young neutered cat would love to be rehomed with his Mum and Dad, but
if thats not possible, Im sure he will make a lovely companion for someone, all
he needs is love, play and time.
Tigglet
was rehomed on the 3rd June

Meet Stan &
Billy
Stan a gorgeous tabby boy who is
sociable and inquisitive, he is constantly
seeking cuddles and is already a master at using the computer keyboard. He and
Billy, a little black boy, got off to a bad start being born in a garden, but
they have now become inseparable, spending lots of time playing and sleeping
We want these two boys to remain together, as we feel they would pine for one
another.
These
kittens are no longer available for adoption
Marble has now been REHOMED ! (10th
June)
Meet the Stunning Marble !

This
stunning youngster was found wandering the streets in the pouring rain, heavily
pregnant, but obviously in deep distress. She was rushed to our Vets and
they began the fight to save Marble and her kittens, but, alas, the kittens
didnt survive.
But
Marble who is only around 9 months old came through the ordeal with no lasting
ill effects. So now this delightful youngster is neutered and ready to go to a
new home. So if you are looking for a talkative queen who always wants the last
word, then Marble is the cat for you.
We
dont think Marble will be happy in a home with other cats, as she isnt too keen
on her neighbours, so perhaps a home where she can be queen of her own castle
would suit her rather well.
This
cat is no longer available for adoption.
Booked and going to New Home 24th June
Meet Max and Thomas
These two
kittens, one black and one grey, need to be rehomed as a
pair. They are part of a litter of 3
babies, who, although born into a domestic home, were not handled
enough as tiny tots, so homing them in
pairs helps to bring out their confidence.
These two are playful, and typically mischeivious, just as kittens should be,
so a home where there is someone around most of the day, will ensure they grow
into lovely and adorable adults.
No Longer Available
Rehomed July 06
Beth-Maisy and Charlie
Here we have another pair of kittens from the same litter as Stan & Billy
that we would like to rehome as a pair. Beth-Maisy, a delightful
but shy tortie queen, who is
gaining confidence by the day, and her brother Charlie, who likes nothing
better than sitting on your knee watching a good episode of EastEnders. These
kittens didnt have a good start, and have only recently discovered that humans
can be trusted, and wont use them for target practice. Pellets were found in
their mother when she was neutered, so we can only imagine what these kittens
went through.
Yes these kittens will be more of a challenge than the other two, we realise
that, but that very challenge makes them worthy of the effort, the rewards you
will gather will be beyond
anything you can imagine.
They are young, and its down to you, treat them with love and affection, play
with them, if you have children get them to constantly interact with them, let
them sleep on the bed, dont lock them in a kitchen overnight, and these kittens
will become devoted. They are almost at that stage now, but, with nervous
kittens we try not to do all the work, as they would then totally bond with us,
we want you as new owners to reap that reward.
If you are home most of the day, and have children who are responsible and old
enough to understand that they mustn't do things to scare the kittens, then you
will reap those rewards.
Mack and Fizz have now been rehomed - 7th July 06
Meet
Mack, a semi long haired tabby tom.

Mack and his sister Fizz came into our care together when their owner died and
relatives could not keep them.
We do feel they can be homed individually, but if anyone wanted to take home
the two of them, we would be delighted.
These are middle aged cats, who we do not feel would be a good choice for a
home with younger children.
And this is........

Meet Fizz, she is a sister to Max.
How can anyone resist that face?
HOVIS HAS BEEN REHOMED - 8TH JULY
Meet Hovis !

This lovely Ginger and White boy was found in Wallsend, so
we cannot rehome him to that area. He is a strong cat, with a
lovely gentle temperament, so typical of gingers. He obviously can jump
walls, as his strong upper body must have been built up by jumping over walls.
But hopefully now he is neutered, he wont have that wander lust any longer.
His new owners must be prepared to keep him indoors for a period of 3-4 weeks
in order for him to get used to his new lifestyle and his new home. But I am
certain, Hovis has many rewards to give.
NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Rehomed 2nd July
Meet Topsy !
This stunning
and loving kitten was found wandering around the General Hospital, (so we
cannot rehome her in that area, in case she tries to seek her old home
and gets lost again) and despite extensive efforts to find her owner, we were
unable to do so, so Topsy, as we have called her is now looking for a loving
new home, where there is another cat for her to play with, as she does love to
play !
She would suit a family where someone is home most of the day, as she is still a
young kitten, and she needs lots of supervision as she a little lightning
child.
No
Longer Available for rehoming

Daisy was with us from February till July when she found a new home with a member of the branch who saw her sorry story in our Cat Chat Magazine. She has settled into her home really well, and is keeping her new owners busy playing with her.
Jake and Julius moved to our Adoption Centre in Derby 13th July
proving hard to eradicate. And, as their fosterer was going on holiday, we knew we couldnt move them to another foster home, in case this was something infectious, so we moved the boys to an Isolation Unit down at Derby awaiting test results. The good news is the tests have proved the problem was nothing serious, and Jake and Julius are now looking for a new home together down there.
queen, now
neutered, probably aged around a year to 2 years of age. She and her daughter Sherry have found a new home together and will be leaving our care on the 21st July
This
stunning and loving kitten was found wandering around the General
Hospital, (so we couldn't rehome her in that area, in case she tries to
seek her old home and got lost again) and despite extensive efforts to
find her owner, we were unable to do so, so Topsy, as we have called
her, was found a new home, but it didnt out, as her new owner hadto move house and was bit allowed to keep a pet in her
new home.
Tipsy's
owner died some time ago, and she went to live with her owners son, who
did all he could for her dispite having a severe allergic reaction to
long
haired cats, but, alas his own cat and Tipsy just didnt see eye to eye.
So as soon as we could we took the magnificent Tipsy into our care.
Button's
owner could no longer keep her because of suffering a stroke. So we are
looking for a wonderful home for this very affectionate Tortie queen.
This
stunning Tabby and White queen was found living in a garden in Heaton,
we did try and find her owner, but to no avail. After being in care for just over a month, Mog found a lovely new home, and hopefully, she and her new owners will enjoy one another.
This
stunning Tabby kitten, has now found a lovely new home along with
Oscar, and we are delighted that both kittens have gone together and
will have each other to play with and create havoc for their new owners.Good News Babe has finally found a new home !
This
lovely natured queen, came into our care along with her partner,Jake
back in February, after they had been living in ladies garden for
months on end.
She had 6 kittens, all now in lovely new homes, the father of which no doubt was Jake, who has now been rehomed,
Kizzy
is a stunning tabby queen kitten who was born into our care. She is
friendly and playful and would love a new home where someone is home at
least part of the day and would need another cat as a companion.
Jeeves and his brother Wooster are two adorable older kittens aged 6-7 months old. Their story is a sad one, as most are,
in that their owner just didnt want them any longer, and locked them out and left neighbours to care for and feed them. Luckily the neighbours did care, and in time these adorable black and white kittens came into our care, and are now
neutered, chipped and have had their first vaccinations. These kittens
need to stay together, and we would consider a home where everyone is
out during the working day, providing the kittens are not locked
outside during the day, they have had quite enough of that.
Our
two little stars are Billy and his sister Penny. These two adorable
kittens are in desperate need of a loving indoor home, perhaps with a
safe secluded garden where they can be supervised. They were discovered
in a Greenhouse, where their young mother had given birth to four of
them. Two were large bouncing kittens that soon found a home, but Billy
and Penny were tiny tots, and both had serious problems. Billy had one
front leg substantially shorter than the other, and Penny only had one
eye.

Pip
is a young black female cat, probably quite young,we estimate about 7-
8 months, who was dumped at our shop in Wallsend has now found the
loving new home she so desperately needed, and our sincere thanks go
out to her new owners for giving her a chance.
This
adorable friendly and playful little black kitten who purrs non stop
has now found a fabulous new home. Thank you to his new owners
Suki
has been with Cats Protection for some time now, after being constantly
overlooked. But her fostermum, has decided that Suki should stay with
the family as she is so settled now, it would be unfair to move her. So
our deepest thanks to our Fostermum and her family for adopting this
special girl, and our thanks for helping Suki trust again and become
the fabulous cat we all knew she could be...
These two adorable tabby and white boys have now found the loving new home they so needed. Thank you to their new
These two adorable tabby kittens, brother and sister, have found a fabulous home together, Thank you to their new
owners.
Mikey
and Glyn have now found a lovely permanent home, where they will be the
only cats in the household. We wish their new owners every joy with
these two lovely boys.
This
adorable Grey Queen, who had such a lovely nature, loving and
talkative, has finally found a home of her own, heres hoping she can
still continue to sunbathe next summer in the garden, as that appeared
to be her total job. Good Luck with her and I know she will be the cat
of your dreams
This
stunning peach and grey tortie queen has now found a lovely new home and will be leaving our care on the 4th September.
This
stunning boy has been living outside since the snows early in the year,
he is a stunning Silver Tabby boy, fairly young, and
very content to have a bed and regular meals has now found a fabulous new home. Thank You to his new owners.
This
stunning young ginger boy, who is very affectionate, purrs very loudly,
he is a little timid, as he has obviously been through a bad somewhere
in his past. But once he gets to know you, he is the most loving boy.
Nelson has now been rehomed 29th Oct
No this Nelson hasnt got one eye, he has two. Nelson was found in a garden, where he had sought shelter as he had a injured paw. Now he is safe and sound in our care, and the paw is healing slowly but surely. Meantime, he has found his bed, and has decided he isnt leaving it incase another cat steals it. He is a lovely cat, with an excellent temperament.
Nelson is no longer available for rehoming
Leo
has only just come into our care, so wont be available for rehoming for
at least two weeks, although we think it could be a while longer as he
is not a happy cat at the moment, and this no doubt is caused by an ear
infection. As you can see Leo's left ear is crumpled, this has been
caused by the cat scratching and causing an inner blood vessel to break
and bleed inside the flap of the ear, this hardens and causes the
crumpled ear. Leo is currently being treated with anti biotics, and
hopefully this will help this gorgeous silken coated ginger boy to feel
a little better. No more applications accepted on Leo
Tegan has been rehomed 21st October

frightened to eat, tests revealed no physical cause, so with lots of love and attention and a bit of help from our Vet, Dusty
started to eat and hasnt looked back since. So we feel a home without
very young children, with a safe, secure garden, and people who can
offer her lots of attention, and being the only cat will suit Dusty so
very well.

hope
to rehome along with Belle. Nadine is still a tiny tot, being only 13
weeks of age, but we feel sure that Belle and Nadine, who was born in
our care, will grow to be firm friends, and will be company for one
another in a new home.

This
lovely natured boy was found after seeking food from a family in
Hadrian Park for quite some time. He is now seeking a new home where
he can be showered with the attention he craves. He is fairly young,
estimated
to be between 3 and 5, by our Vets, neutered, vaccinated and chipped.
So if your home could make room for a lovely affectionate tom, then
Minstral is the cat for you. ( As we keep our foster cats isolated from
other cats we cannot confirm how the cat will react to another cat)
Meet
Milo! Milo is only 14 weeks old, and he could be in YOUR home, and
half way up YOUR Christmas Tree in time for Christmas. However we must
point out, that kittens and decorations dont mix. So expect your tree
to be used as a giant climbing frame !
started, and
microchipped. We feel Monty would love a home on his own, where he can
be the only cat.
Percy
is a really loving young cat, aged around one year. Who turned up some
time ago in the Howdon area of Newcastle. He is pure white, and he may
be deaf, as so many white cats are, but it certainly doesnt stop him
from being a real character. He is very loving and deserves a home of
his own. He is neutered, microchipped
and fully vaccinated and would make a lovely pet for a family or single
person. If Percy is to be allowed out, it should only be within a very
secure garden, if he is deaf, he wont be able to hear a car coming, so
it would be reckless to allow him total freedom to roam.
Hector
came into our care as a stray from the Byker area, where he had been
seen limping due to a very sore paw. He is now neutered,
vaccinated, his paw is now fully healed, and is looking fo
r a new home where he will be the only
pet. He hates sharing that comfy knee with anyone....lol. This cat is
very loving indeed, and is desperate
for a home of his own.
This gorgeous Grey & White Queen, who we believe to be less than a year old, came to us from the North Shields area,
