Hi Chrissie, I'm delighted to hear this, but not surprised. If people are patient they will find that more times than enough a feral will bond closely with its owner, and the result is a devoted pet who asks very little from you. I will make sure Liz gets the news..
i adopted a ferrel kitten from liz at cats protection when i went to see him he wouldnt interact with any of the other kittens just sat by himself and watched hes the one i said he was right at the back of my cat carrier n had to tip it up to get him out he tried to hide all the time but i got him out n gave him cuddles all the time, hes now 9 month old full of mischief and follows me everywhere hes the most afectionate kitten ive had wouldnt be without him
Thanks for the reply, Tabu arrived home and she had eyes like saucers she was on planet poor me. The kind lady from CP said dont worry if she isnt hungry as she has been fed. FED ...... Lady couldnt have got her key in the ignition when the howling began I had to give her a little food, she cleared the bowl and howled again, I gave her some more and she finally went to sleep for a few hours at my side. I had to put the elizabethan collar on her that took a few moments and lasted just as long. Once asleep I got it back on her and its been on since, she is still queter and is sleeping more. Lucky her I've yet to get to my bed since her op. She is eating well and resting fine playing a lil bit and the Ninja in her is as yet fast asleep.
If's often said that neutering calms them down, well, in the case of Tabu, I wouldnt bank on it...:)
She is a character, and they are always the ones that we love the most, heaven knows why, but looking back over the many I have had the pleasure to own, its the naughty ones who stay uppermost in my mind.
You should however, get a few hours of peace when she comes home today, as, with luck, she may still be quiet after her op, but tomorrow, it will be business as usual..

Its begining to look like my page here, Tabu has been a proper toe rag at the vets after getting her 2nd injection. Im delighted my neighbour took her........ the vets words were.."she turned Bengal on us" personally Ive used the term Ninja but whatever fits at the time eh. She is quite the character and I love her to bits the good and the bad, in fairness she has had five days with no attacks, she has thought about it but a quick shake of the water bottle seems to change her mind.
Im feeling as guilty as sin as she is off getting spayed today and she didnt
take to kindly to not getting fed from 6pm last night. Poor thing has howled most of the night. I will be pleased to get my lil "angel" back .

Sandra its good to hear that Tabu is settling in well, and behaving like a normal kitten, yes they nearly all are fiends...hahaha
My latest keeper, who is now a year old, managed to take down a baby gate by unscrewing it bit by bit... and although Im fine to be on the phone, I cant walk past the kitchen table without a paw or a jaw reaching out and attacking me...oh well... thats kittens for ya...

My name is Sandra and I recently adopted the most beautiful kitten from here. I renamed her Tabu a name from a perfume I used to wear in my teenage years, she has settled in here really well she eats and sleeps and plays well. The litter tray has been used from the begining she is great but for one little thing............she turns feral when I am talking on the pnone its really bad. Jealous I guess but it will stop one way or another I cant keep getting bitten and blood all over the place from a 12 week kitten. Anyways apart from that I am delighted with her everything else about her is simply perfect. I adopted her from the Northumberland branch.
Glad you are enjoying the magazine Gillian. I do try and bring Cat stories from everywhere worldwide, but of course local ones are even better.
I am not totally sure, but I think Chester went to a new home, but will find out for sure from Val.

I did enjoy reading about Hilary in the latest edition of Cat Chat. My friend and I had made her acquaintance on a number of occasions when we used to visit Blanchland and I am so glad that she is being looked after now that The Lord Crewe Arms has closed. By the way, did you manage to rehome Chester? I do hope so as he looked a lovely boy.

We always have adult cats seeking new homes, our Cats are fully vaccinated, chipped and neutered, and come with 4 weeks free Insurance from PetPlan.
There is an Adoption Fee of £50 required, and of course if you wish to add a donation on top of that, we would be very grateful indeed. As you can imagine, neutering costs alone are eaten up by the adoption fee.
