Hi, i lost my cat a week ago, its in the wallsend area, he is 3 years old, and so far ive rang up the cat and dog shelters and put posters through peoples doors near by. He is the cat in my picture. Any more advice on how to find him?

Hi Linzi I have reomoved your other identical posts, as multiple posting of the same post takes up webspace. I have also altered your post on Lost Cats, as the heading gives no clue as to where he was missing from. I take it he is neutered? Is he microchipped ? You need to contact the local authority and ask to speak to the Cleansing Dept, in order to rule out whether or not he has had a road accident. Not nice to do, but if you do it, you at least get peace of mind. You should also visit the Dog and Cat Shelter at Benton Farm, the other one doesnt have a cat unit any longer. Phoning them is all very well, but as many cats look the same, its always good to go down once a week, just to be sure. Can you also tell us a bit more about his personality.. would be be likely to go up to people etc? Good Luck...

He isnt microchipped or neutered. Hes quite a shy cat, he always runs away if any strangers would come in my home, he would need to get used to someone before any one would be able to go near him. He also has got weak back legs so he cant really jump very high, and can be quite wobbly when hes trying to balance on fences and stuff unlike my other cats who can do this fine. Do you think it would be a good idea to ring up vets that are local? Thanks for the help

An unnueutered cat has a territory of 16 sq miles, so he really could be anywhere. He just cant help his hormones Linzi.. and if he has got scent of a female is season he will go and fight for her. When you get him back, get him neutered, currently he is at risk of Feline Aids and Leukemia, which cats pass through fighting and mating. Plus that will help to stop him straying off again. You can of course leave a photo of him with Vets, but so often an unneutered cat is classed as a stray, so little attention will be given for that reason. I would contact the local authority though, re any cats involved in an accident. If I hear anything at all, of a cat matching his description, I will post.
